On November 10th, Lupita flew to Australia for the filming of her upcoming film ‘Little Monsters’ and was seen in Sydney playing a movie scene in which she plays the role of teacher, Miss Caroline. It’s nice to see her on the set of a movie, I hope we’ll have more pictures ! You can re-read the information about the film in the articles below.
Lupita Nyong’o and Josh Gad will star in Little Monsters, a zombie comedy from writer-director Abe Forsythe. Forsythe’s Down Under star Alexander England also will topline the pic, which is in production in Sydney. The movie is being produced by Keith and Jess Calder’s Snoot Entertainment and Bruna Papandrea’s Made Up Stories. It has received major production investment from Screen Australia in association with Create NSW.
The film follows Dave (England), a washed-up musician who volunteers to chaperone his nephew’s kindergarten class field trip after taking a shine to the plucky teacher, Miss Caroline (Nyong’o). Dave’s intentions are complicated by the presence of Teddy McGiggle (Gad) the world’s most famous kids show personality — and competition for Miss Caroline’s affections. One thing none of them bargained for, however, is a sudden zombie outbreak, from which Dave and Miss Caroline must protect the children.
The Calders are producing alongside Made Up Stories’ Papandrea, Jodi Matterson and Steve Hutensky, with Jeanne Snow executive producing. Protagonist Pictures is handling international sales.
Oscar winner Nyong’o is repped by CAA and Del Shaw; Gad is with WME, Lighthouse Management & Media and Ziffren Brittenham. The Australia-born Forsythe is repped by CAA and Plattform, and fellow Aussie England is with UTA and United Management.

Nyong’o is nothing if not deliberate. Throughout our cover shoot, she is a whirring cog of efficiency, marching back and forth from hair and make-up and zipping through different outfits with the laser focus of a seasoned pro. When I go over to introduce myself in the morning — she is meandering around the set in a huge pair of sunglasses, gnawing on a slice of pineapple — the brusque curtness of her “Hello” catches me off-guard. Certainly, she is unafraid of one-word answers and does not have the habit of laughing or dissembling simply to make you feel comfortable. (When we first sit down together and I ask how she is doing, she says simply: “OK”; as to whether she has a big fashion week coming up, her reply is merely, “No.”)
When I mention this reputation for being reserved, she disagrees. “I don’t think of myself as serious,” she says. “Thoughtful, perhaps, yes. I think, oftentimes, when I’m talking to the world through magazines, it’s with strangers. When I’m comfortable, I can be silly.” When we come to a topic that interests her — her acting, her advocacy — the moments of chilly aloofness switch to long stretches of pensive intensity.
